Information Navigation
6 Hour to 2-Day Workshops - On-site and Virtual Options

Our core program.

This workshop is unique.

You will learn key, essential and "foundational" skills for communicating clearly in daily business interactions - with a focus on answering questions effectively.

Objectives include learning:

  • a navigation system in the mind for organizing information quickly
  • key nonverbal and verbal technique to connect and persuade
  • how long to answer - the "rate of believability" response time
  • a step-by-step method for answering questions effectively under pressure
  • how and why managing the first 5 - 10 seconds in any interaction is critical
  • how many points to make at one time
  • 4 brain patterns (and combinations of) to engage and persuade a listener
  • the power, persuasion and necessity of providing framing and context to answers and information
  • how "chunking" information will create memory for an audience or listener
  • how to start, transition and end communication
  • active listening techniques to clarify questions, to connect with others and to give yourself time to think
  • tools on how to adjust your content for different audiences
  • how to spot deceit in others. Tips from FBI and CIA negotiators and interrogators
  • how to design a clear, concise, 3-5 minute briefing or update quickly and effectively
  • how many of the tools in this workshop can be used in multiple business communication settings like conversations and writing

Your answering technique is being assessed on a subconscious and conscious level by your listener.

Learn what to do with your body language -  and how to say it - when answering questions that have impact on your business.

  • how to practice and rehearse effectively (not through memorization)
  • effective voice pitch, variety and pace
  • what to do and NOT to do with your eye contact, gestures and stance
  • how to ease into a presentation and why it's so important to do so
  • key tools and techniques to support, edit and highlight content
  • the "data points of persuasion," that connect with and persuade audiences on a conscious and subconscious level

* If delivered as Day 2 (an add-on after learning Information Navigation skills, tools and techniques), objectives also include:

  • reviewing and practicing the steps and skills learned on Day 1
  • learning how the skills and tools learned for answering questions on Day 1, can be developed and adjusted for formal presentation delivery
